Finding Inspiration

Update: This post was originally posted on 20th September 2020 but after changing my website this post had to be re-published due to technical issues.

Have you ever found yourself in a slump and wondering where you'll find that inspiration to get out that slump? It might be with your studies, workout, business or life in general.

One way I find help getting out these slumps is to pop over to Pintrest (where you can find me as well) as it's full of great inspiration. I thought I would share with you some of my favorite quotes that I have found useful.

In no particular order these are five quotes that have spoken to me for one reason or another.

I've briefly written before about how my daughter were almost homeless and how when we got accommodation it was above drug users. And this along with other things were going on I was diagnosed with anxiety.

I can't quite remember when I read this quote but I remember it spoke to me on some level. After all I don't know what the future holds my little girl maybe one day she'll be going through a really tough time. And she can use me as an example that anything is survivable.

I don't know about you but I used to compare myself to others, there seemed to be a voice in my head that was always putting me down. The voice that said "that person has another sale, you must be failing you're not getting sales", "that person is younger than you why are you starting your business in your 30's you're too old" as well as other such negative thoughts.

Now I won't go into my theory where these thoughts come from but it's fair to say they weren't helpful in the slightest. This quote helped remind me that Rome wasn't built in a day and we all move at our own pace. Yes I was in my 30's before I started my business but that means I have the experiences from my 20's to use in my business. Also there are plenty of successful entrepreneurs who are even older than me before starting their business, for instance Mr Sanders was 62 years young when he started KFC and we all know how successful his business is.

So really shows you're never to late to start chasing your dreams.

Any one who has read my blog for a while or follows me on Twitter knows that my little girl is my absolute world. In fact it is my desire to give her a better life was the main reason for me starting my own business. But not only that but like this quote says I want to show her that dreams no matter how big or small can come true with hard work.

She might not always remember what I said to her but she'll remember my actions and that I worked hard to give her a good life.

I read this recently and realized I am most definitely at this point in my life, I spent my teens and twenties trying to fit in and be what everyone else wanted me to be. I didn't realized how unhappy I was. Now I'm in my 30's divorced and been through my own version of hell I am now at a point where I have come to realize that only living a life that makes me happy is the right thing to do. Even if my friends and family doesn't understand it doesn't matter.

And I hope you do the same, live the life that makes you happy and don't worry if no one understands it.

The final quote is one that inspires my business, although you might find it inspires another part of your life.

But it made me realized that to get to where I want to be with my business and life, which is to have a business that allows me to leave my day job, buy a home for my daughter and myself and afford to have a nice holiday every now and again. Well I had to start my business even though I didn't know everything I had to do. In fact almost a year on I still don't know everything and am constantly learning and in the time I've been on business I've tweaked how I've done things a couple of times. And I'm sure I'll make more tweaks as time goes on. But with every step I take I am moving closer to my goal.

I hope you find inspiration from this quote that no matter where you are going in life, no matter your goal just start walking towards your goal. As every step will take you closer to your goal.

I hope these quotes inspire you as they have me or maybe you'll find yourself on Pintrest like me looking for some inspirational quotes that will speak to you.
